I've been storytelling for over thirty years. When I moved back to
Texas in '99 I signed on as storyteller at the library in the town of Buda where I live, and eventually began volunteering at the Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic in Austin.
I love narrating audio books. I think it's really my favorite thing to do, even more than singing. Telling a story isn't just reading what's on the page. It's becoming every character in the book – feeling what they feel, knowing what they know (even the parts that the listener doesn't know).
A good narrator will allow the characters to live through him/her and become the vehicle with which they captivate the listener.
